This is an original miniature watercolour painting by Jenny Chapman. It shows a view from the Highland village of Onich on a late October afternoon, looking south-west down Loch Linnhe towards the sea. As is often the case in this area, at the foot of Britain’s tallest mountain range, (Onich is close to the lower end of Glen Coe and about 10 miles from Ben Nevis), there were heavy clouds in the local area around the mountains, but the sky was clear out at sea, giving a lovely glow on the horizon as the sun set in the far distance. The low hills on the right of the loch are those of Morvern. The surface of the loch was ruffled by a light wind, creating an interesting pattern of ripples and light, with a wee cottage silhouetted against the light water on the spit of land to the right.

Work on this painting is discussed and illustrated in the Artist’s Journal entries for 25th November 2009 and 26th November 2009.

The painting is presented in a hand-made wooden frame with real miniature glass and is ready to hang, complete with a gold-plated chain.

This painting is a unique work of art and no prints of it will be made. It is initialled on the front and signed both on the back of the painting itself (not visible when framed) and on the archival quality backing board, which is sealed to the frame in the traditional way with miniature paper tape. A unique code number is marked on the back, and a signed certificate of authenticity with this code number is also supplied.

This miniature work of art is a collectors’ item intended for collectors of miniatures and for dolls house enthusiasts. Please note that it is not a toy and is not intended for children.
