This is an original miniature drawing by Jenny Chapman. It is the second of a series of studies of dramatic light over the Sound of Mull on a cold afternoon in early February. The sun had just sunk behind a massive black cloud but it was so bright that brilliant rays of light shot out from behind the cloud, which truly had a silver lining. On the far side of the Sound, the northern tip of the Isle of Mull was lit up by the silvery rays. This view looks a little more to the west than the first study, so that it includes a group of windswept spruces on the low ground near the shore.
Work on this series of images is described in the Artist’s Journal entries for 10th February 2009 and 26th February 2009.
This miniature drawing is sold unframed, so as to be suitable for use in miniature artists’ studios, but ink drawings also look stunning in a natural wood, gold or brightly coloured frame. There is no postage charge to UK destinations for unframed art work.
Please note that unframed ink drawings are delicate and should be handled with care. They are particularly susceptible to damage by water or dampness.
This drawing is a unique work of art and no prints of it will be made. It is titled, signed and dated on the back of the paper. A unique code number is also marked on the back.
This miniature work of art is a collectors’ item intended for collectors of miniatures and for dolls house enthusiasts. Please note that it is not a toy and is not intended for children.
